Even though the pirate appeared to be horribly froghtening, he actually turned out to be a rather nice guy (imagine, nice pirates in St. Augustine?!?!) He carried Sock Monkey to the local pirate leader, a VERY scary looking pirate/skeleton and presented him with much fan-fare.
